Every intensive course includes 95 hours of instruction. Courses normally take place in the mornings, from Monday (except for arrival day) through Friday from 8:30 a.m. till 12:50 p.m. Our intensive course program stands out from the crowd because of the following features: You’ll always find the optimal start with us: Our course offering, with courses commencing each month of the year (see course dates), allows you the highest degree of flexibility for deciding when to start your course. As a beginner you can take a course to build a basic language foundation or you can further train your already-existing German skills. You can also take consecutive courses for several months until you reach your desired proficiency level. With our diverse, systematically structured course system with eight succesive levels you will always find the level that corresponds just right to your language skill level. If you already have prior knowledge of German, a placement and diagnosis test will help us determine the proper course placement for you. You’ll be placed in a linguistically homogenous course group. Relatively small classes with an annual average of 7 participants per course group and a maximum number of 15 participants per group also help to ensure optimal success in your course. So that you can always bring in your own questions as well and so that you have ample opportunity to speak. - A qualified, experienced team of instructors
A teaching team of highly engaged, motivating native speakers are up for the many challenges of the course program. They are cooperative and open. With their professional qualifications and many years of experience teaching German as a foreign language, they always succeed at motivating the participants. - Learning objective-oriented course progression
The diversified course program structure goes hand in hand with a learning objective course progression, whereby each of the eight course levels' content and progression is defined by precise learning objective standards and whereby the participants are systematically prepared for the learning objectives of the given course level. This begins with a communicative, action-oriented type of language instruction with simple daily communication and basic grammar structures in the beginners’ courses, and progresses toward a target group-specific goal that prepares students for academic-related forms of communication covering complex topics and a wide ranging reading comprehension. This generally includes incorporating bits and pieces of the German-speaking world into the learning process within the framework of instructional projects where that which has just been learned is tried out in authentic conversational situations. - A pleasant learning environment
All courses provide a very nice working environment and a pleasant learning environment that promotes motivation. This builds a foundation for successfully managing the language challenges. - Modern instructional media and course-specific teaching material
All classrooms are equipped with LCD-TVs, dvd players, cd players, overhead projectors and beamers. Our facility also includes a computer lab with 10 work stations. The classroom materials we use prepare the course participants for the individual course level requirements. Our language learning program also provides access to computerized language learning programs and practice materials. - In-house exams for each course level
During the course there are weekly tests and every participant receives a grade certificate at the end of the course. - An extracurricular program parallel to course
As a supplement to the daily classroom sessions, there is a cultural and leisure time program that changes every month and is usually offered twice a week.
